Salmonella infections are an important public health problem throughout the world, with infection rates and antibiotic resistance on the increase. Salmonella molecular pathogenesis is one of the best studied and understood and hence serves as an important model system for studies of pathogenesis and innate immunity, in addition to its relevance to human and animal disease. The 5th ASM Conference on Salmonella will bring together international leaders from around the world to discuss the latest and most exciting discoveries on a variety of topics related to salmonellosis including: host/pathogen interactions, molecular pathogenesis, epidemiology and treatment. The organizing committee is excited to have as many scientists in training as possible attend the meeting to present their results and interact with the large community of Salmonella researchers.
