2nd ASM Conference on Prokaryotic Development

In collaboration with the Society for General Microbiology

July 13-16, 2005 | University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada

Conference Scope

The goal of this meeting was to provide a forum for the exchange of current information on topics related to prokaryotic development. This includes both the well-studied model developmental systems of Bacillus, Caulobacter, Myxococcus, Streptomyces, and Anabena, and opportunities for new emerging systems. Sessions were arranged around the topics of cell cycle, morphogenesis, differentiation, cell division, cell-cell signaling, multicellularity, and symbiosis.
