Work on the agents that cause systemic mycoses has exploded in recent years, spawning major scientific and clinical advances that will be the subject of this new international meeting. This first-of-a-kind meeting is intended for investigators and clinicians worldwide to report and discuss the latest advances and state-of-the-art concepts.
The meeting is scheduled to run in parallel with the 8th ASM Conference on Candida and Candidiasis, and will follow the same schedule format, include oral presentations in ten scientific sessions and daily poster presentations. Since the two meetings will be held in parallel, registration for Dimorphic Fungal Pathogens will allow participants to attend any session or talk at the Candida conference. The dual conference format will encourage networking with scientists working in both fields. Joint meeting activities will include one clinical session on a topic pertinent to all the medically important fungi, one evening mixer, and lunches together. The combined venue should offer a small meeting "feel" with quality interactions, and lots of cutting-edge science between the parallel conferences.
