The rapid increase in antibiotic resistance (AR) has become one of the biggest challenges to humankind in the 21st century. Remarkably, scientific breakthroughs in the past decade presented a much more comprehensive picture of AR, revealed multiple risk factors contributed to the problem seen today, and enabled innovative targeted controls.
The ASM Conference on Innovative Microbial Ecology for Mitigation of Antibiotic Resistance and Bacterial Diseases will discuss cutting-edge scientific findings on the ecology of antibiotic resistant microorganisms and innovative mitigation strategies in food, agriculture, and medicine. It will also provide the opportunity to hear the hidden causes of antibiotic resistance and bacterial diseases; learn new strategies for prompt disease prevention and treatment with reduced risk of antibiotic resistance; network with peers in the field, scientific and industry leaders, as well as government agents and program officers; and shape the directions of future funding programs.
